On the gender of Nythra and other acausal beings

The question of how earthly concepts like sex/gender apply to acausal beings seems of general interest to many. I’ve also encountered recurrent push-back against my perception of the gender of a specific entity I’ve often worked with. This blog post therefore unpacks some thoughts of mine re: sex/gender – both in general, and with specific reference to Nythra, one of the Dark Gods (Nekalah) of the Order of Nine Angles (ONA/O9A).

Baneful magick with the Nekalah, part 3

Something I’ve increasingly been thinking this blog could use is more of my personal gnosis re: the Nekalah. Toward that end, this entry shares some thoughts I have on working baneful magick with these entities. There will be three entries in this sub-series: 1) Nekalah who I’ve known to be quite keen on baneful magick, but only in specific circumstances; 2) Nekalah who, despite being entities of Darkness, nonetheless lean toward solving problems in a non-baneful manner; and finally, 3) Nekalah who might plausibly described as specialists in malice. This entry will discuss those I class in the third category: Abatu, Azanigin, Gaubni, Nythra, Shaitan, and Shugara.

“Eater of Stars, protrude your wings…”: Uada and Nythra

As stated in my bio, I am a passionate fan of black metal and similar genres of “Dark” music.  Of such bands, one that has been the biggest influence on Tenebrous Satanism is Uada. It’s thus inevitable that I’ll be talking about their songs on here from time to time. In today’s case, the song in question is “In the Absence of Matter.” What does it have to do with Tenebrous Satanism? Well, regardless of what the band intended, the lyrics and sound both match up strikingly well with my gnosis of a certain entity, the one most central to my spiritual experiences in recent years: Nythra. And to illustrate the connection, I’ll have to talk about the gnosis itself…
